I am in my final year at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, pursuing a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Studio.
My studies focus in sound and writing, and I produce works primarily for radio. I investigate human connections to the divine world, the natural world and the man made world through the use of documentary-based practices. Often times, the process of making a piece is just as, if not more important than the final work itself. The relationships that form and emerge―between both the artist and those individuals interviewed or researched―are an integral part of the way I strive to make a positive impact in the world. The act of broadcasting is another equally important element of my practice, as it allows me to reach a wider audience through a relatively accessible medium.
I am currently working on a documentary for radio that explores the ever-evolving means of communication between deployed military service members and their families.
